Michal L. Ramsey is the 2014 District Attorney for Butte County. Michael has served as the Butte District Attorney for over 35 years during which time he has lead the District Attorney's office in special investigation and prosecutions programs such as a Child Abuse Response Team, Domestic Violence Unit, and a Welfare Response Unit, amongst several others.
Michael is a 4th generation Butte Resident who attended UC Berkley for his undergraduate career and eventually earned his J.D. from the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento in 1977, which is the same year that he was sworn into the Sacramento District Attorney's office. In 1987, Michael was appointed as the Butte County District Attorney, which is a position to which he has been reelected 5 times.
