Mathew Higbee is a the law firm's founder and a nationally recognized expert on expungement. He has successfully handled more than 5,000 expungement cases. Higbee has worked with law makers across the country to help create expungement laws and has offered expert testimony to multiple legislative bodies. His multiple unanimous published appeals cases have helped define and provide important guidance about expungement law.
Higbee is licensed to practice law in eight states. He has served as prosecutor and defense counsel. His commentary and insight on expungement related topics have appeared in a wide range of media. He is a frequent speaker at policy and training events geared towards helping former offenders.

He also received the University of Utah and Utah State Supreme Court's award for outstanding commitment to pro bono service.

Job Description
As president of the law firm, I have a wide range of duties. First and foremost is making sure that we are achieving our client's goals. While I spend a considerable amount of time handling cases, my other notable activities include lobbying, pro bono activities, and finding new ways to help people who turn to us to solve their problems.
Favorite part of the job
Winning the tough cases. I love fighting for the underdog and winning their cases when they thought it was hopeless.
Advice to clients
Be patient and trust us. The courts move slow, but we know how important your case is to you and that we will apply the right amount of pressure, if needed, and make the decisions that will result in the best possible outcome for your case.
