Dave Aronberg serves as the State Attorney of Florida's 15th Judicial Circuit serving Palm Beach County. Dave is a native to Miami and went on to graduate with honors at Harvard College and Harvard Law School. Post-graduation he began working in the litigation department of a large law firm in Florida. During this time he also worked investigating European insurance companies. By 1999, Dave became an Assistant Attorney General for Florida and led an investigation of Purdue Pharma's, the manufacturer of the drug Oxycontin. In 2000, Dave was granted the non-partisan position of White House Fellow. During this time held position for two different presidential administrations as an assistant to the Treasury Department in which he worked to fight the laundering of money by terrorist organizations.
Dave was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2002 and was at the time, its youngest member. Dave held this position until 2010 and during his term he focused on consumer protection from identity theft and worked to close loopholes being used by sex offenders. Dave also put forth legislation to remove the statute of limitations for rape victims under the age of 16. Between 2008 and 2009, Dave passed legislation that would control gangs. The legislation banned the possession of bulletproof vests from felons, included harsher penalties for habitual gang related offenders, and a reformed witness protection program. After leaving the Senate, Dave ran for State Attorney and won with 58% of the vote. He was sworn in January 8, 2013.
