Jay K. Wilgus is a member of the Utah State Bar and the Salt Lake Bar Association.
Wilgus obtained an Honors degree in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Argumentation and Decision-Making from the University of Utah. Thereafter, he enrolled at the S.J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah where he was a member of the Utah Law Review, served as a teaching assistant for Torts, Property, and Legal Writing, and participated on the Medication Advocacy Team before graduating with his Juris Doctor.
Wilgus clerked at Jones Vargas Law Firm in Las Vegas, NV where he worked on tax, real estate, tort, gaming, and securities issues.
Wilgus also earned a Master’s degree in Dispute Resolution from the prestigious Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University. In addition to his legal practice, Wilgus provides dispute resolution services to clients who would like to use negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or other alternative means of dispute resolution to work though conflict.
Wilgus also volunteers for the Rape Recovery Center of Utah as a certified rape-crisis counselor, speaks intermediate Spanish, and is a member of the Association for Student Judicial Affairs and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.
